Successful EU-ROK Joint Researchers Forum on Semiconductors

As part of the digital partnership established in June 2023 between South Korea and the European Commission, aimed at strengthening cooperation and economic resilience in the digital domain, the European ICOS semiconductor project team had the privilege of jointly organizing the very first EU-South Korea Joint Researchers Forum on Semiconductors with the European Commission.

This event brought together prominent researchers from leading institutions in both countries in Brussels on March 25 and 26, 2024.

The event was honored by the presence of the Minister of Science and ICT of South Korea, Mr. Lee Jong Ho, Ms. Lucilla Sioli, Director of CONNECT A, Mr. Jari Kinaret, Director of Chips JU, as well as Mr. Jeonghyun Ryu, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Brussels.

Researchers from both countries had the opportunity to present their research work, while high-level speakers also shared their knowledge during discussions. Poster sessions and networking moments were also the occasion to foster exchanges and collaboration opportunities.

This Forum served as a platform to not only showcase ongoing research but also to lay the groundwork for future partnerships and initiatives that will contribute to the advancement of both regions in the rapidly evolving field of semiconductors.
