ICOS at SEMICON Europa 2025 – Presentation of Results

During the session “Building Europe’s Chips Talent: Skills for Sovereignty”, Francis Balestra (ICOS Coordinator – Grenoble INP – UGA / SiNANO Institute) delivered a presentation titled “Horizon Europe ICOS: International Cooperation on Semiconductors for European Economic Resilience”.
He showcased the project’s results and underlined the crucial role of International Cooperation in strengthening Europe’s semiconductor ecosystem and economic resilience. He began by highlighting the strengths and weaknesses across the semiconductor value chains within EU and in leading semiconductor countries, including strategic dependencies, market growth, and cooperation opportunities based on the development of partnerships. He then presented priority research topics for International Cooperation, focusing on emerging technologies and critical needs related to advanced computing technologies and advanced functionalities.
