Call for Participation – Evaluate and Review the Chips Act
The Commission just launched on Friday a Public Consultation and Call for Evidence on the evaluation and review of the Chips Act, inviting stakeholders to provide feedback on the current functioning of the Chips Act and on possible future adaptations to ensure the Act remains fit for purpose in light of changing market, technological and geopolitical realities.

As you know, the Chips Act foresees an evaluation and review by September 2026. In the AI Continent Action Plan, the Commission indicated to accelerate preparatory work in view of revising the Chips Act in 2026. A proposal for a revision could be tabled in Q2 2026. The Call for Evidence and the public consultation are part of the preparatory work.
The Call for Evidence is used to define the scope of a possible Chips Act revision. The Call for Evidence describes the problem to be tackled and objectives to be met, explains why EU action is needed, outlines policy options and describes the main features of the consultation strategy. Stakeholders can give free-form feedback directly via the link above, click “Give feedback”, fill in the form, attach a document if they want, and submit their views.
The questionnaire in the public consultation seeks stakeholders’ views on the adequacy of the current Chips Act and on potential improvements and new avenues for action. There are different questions for different stakeholder groups. Stakeholders can give their feedback and inputs via the link above, click “Go to consultation”, click “Respond to the questionnaire”, fill in the questionnaire, attach a document if they want, and submit their views.
Feedback can be given until 28 November 2025.
